My favourite thing in the world is seeing folks act like real human beings around big celebrity personalities

i grew up in a small rural town where there was one dentist, which i went to from around age 5 whenever my parents had the right insurance/money/time to get me there. anyway when i’m like 20 or so i started having minor issues with my wisdom teeth coming in, but not so severe that this place can’t extract them.

so i go in for that and i’m sitting there in the chair and the assistant comes in looking at some paperwork and says “so you’ve been coming here for a while right?” and i am like “oh yeah since i was a little kid” and she replies “yeah, i thought so, there’s one note on your file and it’s ‘patient likes dinosaurs and bugs’”

And do you still like dinosaurs and bugs?

so my brother was telling me about this human resources certification he attended a while ago. in a panel, the panelist asked a bunch of people in attendance, “who here knows if an applicant for a job is right for it in under 60 seconds?”

hands shot up around the room, people smug about their ability to “weed out the riff-raff” when it came to hiring for their fortune 500.

“you should all be fired and probably in jail,” they said, waiting for the whole room to get uncomfortable, then continued, “because the only things you can really learn about a human being in under 60 seconds are all things that are fueled by prejudices and biases covered by american law. so now, i will teach you how to stop being racist, sexist, judgmental assholes and hire people that will better your company of employ.”

I need this to be force taught at all companies

Thank you so much for reblogging this at EXACTLY the right moment because this exact post is what I was thinking of when admiring this magnificent post about Shackleton’s polar expedition recruitment methods

pleaseeeee use wool guys it doesnt actually hurt the sheep at all and its a really great material and doesnt break down into micro plastics when you’re done with it. they need shearing anyway for their wellbeing. farmers have so much of the stuff because no one buys it any more.

just buy wool please please please
